03 Overland 4.7 Misfire. I'm working on my friend's 2003 Grand Cherokee Overland with the HO 4.7L V8. The truck had a misfire on cylinder #2, causing a check engine light with code P0302. The misfire was not noticable, but the fuel mileage seemed poor and the engine was a little rough on a cold start. At 113,000 miles, he had never changed the
Most people won't need to replace a single coil pack on their Jeep 4.7. If you want to replace the OEM coil packs with crummy aftermarket ones that will probably fail sooner, that'll be $170. If you want to buy new OEM coil packs, that'll be $240. If you want to thank me for helping you save money, that'll be $100.

My research has found the HO engine uses a slightly higher flow rate that the standard 4.7. I found out the regular 4.7 uses 22.5 LB/HR injectors, my Jeep 4.7 HO VIN "J" uses 25.8 LB/HR. I'm spending a pile of cash on my 2004 WJ with an HO engine that puked a valve seat. I want everything on the new engine NEW. Sort by Oldest first.
CarlJH. it sounds more like a tap than a knock, my guess is a faulty valve adjuster. you will need to find which side it is and take the valve cover off and see if one of the rockers is loose. You can use a long screwdriver like a stethoscope, put the handle to your ear and touch the end on what you want to listen to.
